And then the mammoth screams
A trumpeting bellow resounding across the land
Shaking the mountains it triggers an avalanche
Glaciers groan as they break from their rigid banks
Boulders of ice thunder down on our broken ranks
The last mammoth

Blinded, derided, reviled and in exile for life
Listlessly walking, perpetual faltering stride
Fettered and shackled, the chains rattle loudly behind
Manacled sentence, an eon of penitent time
He who dared to dream
Beyond the false regime
Forced to toil alone
'Til death shall he atone
Silenced, compliant, a whole generation in line
Lifelessly watching, the clock's inexorable chimes
Pealing, revealing, another fragmented design
Of droning monotony, draining humanity's fire
Angels, demons, believers, heathens be warned
Tear eyes from the heavens and look to this world of our own
Corruption, pernicious, a poison so potent pervades
It numbs you to misery begat subjugation as slaves
For you are as they want
Meek and mild and prone
You nod your heads to them
And bow before their whims
Cracking, breaking, society's shaking in fright
Thinkers and leaders, beginning to take up the fight
Quashing the rulers who stand on our shoulders in spite
Mandating lives with no trace of contrition ascribed
Sisters, brothers, fathers, mothers behold
A world filled with choices and myriad options unfolds
The yoke of oppressors will crumble down into the dirt
From that prison now dust a new way of living is birthed
For this I'm named betrayer:
A world for the many in place
Of a selfish and decadent wasteland
Upon which the many can stand

A formless void that no one knew
A spark of plasma frames this dark
The abyss surrenders shape
Beings of countless thought and heart
Render time and space
Spawned, in an ocean bereft, a sea without soul, they break a new world
Stars, to brighten new nights, and lighten new skies, such a sight to behold
Spacial dust that slowly swirls
Amidst the cloud a mass reveals
Imbue breath to instil life
Humankind is born
To rule a world we claim our own
Fools as yet so young
Lost, spinning adrift, on a limitless plane, in a limitless time
Sure, certain we are, thinking we know, with airs so divine
They named the Earth
And brought the Sun
We do not compare
In the eyes of them
We are but worthless beings
Do they sleep?
Do they dream?
Do they feel?

He falls down, a broken man
Incoherent mumbling, staring straight up
I could not see what it was he saw

We wiped them out

His spine is so brittle it'll break
In anguish he prays for a soul... to stray into his
Eighth dimension, nourish his cruel intention, he needs to feed... on you
Satisfy him, fuel to stop his dying, let him breathe... you in
Years have gone by since he last quenched his thirst
His blood is so dry that his veins are all burst
Crippled and lonely he suffers the curse
Of the execrated
Burdened with bleakness and a crushing despair
The demon inhaling the thickening air
A poison insipid polluting the lair
Of the denigrated
Demon! No one can fathom the pain you are in
Demon! Wait in the darkness and pray for an end

Madness soaring through the air, his anger burning bright
Crew and captain clinging boldly, running out of time
Laughing, the Airship Madness dives
Falling, deckhands slip their lines
Sensing freedom, the Airship Madness rises once again
The captain bellows, ‘rein him tightly!’ but too few still remain
Not about to lose this fight, the Airship Madness leans
Any who were not tied down are swept into the wind
All but one
Dead and gone
Nothing left
Only death
Tiring, the captain has one chance
Burning, oil thrown from his hands
A blazing beacon, the Airship Madness, plummets from the sky
Blackened smoke, a trail of darkness, expunged into the night
Cackling laughter heard by no one, the Airship Madness dies
Amidst a crash of splintered timber, claimed by thirsting fire
